Mechanical filter, also named as pressure filters, which is the
of pretreatment of pure water and other industrial sewage treatment

Classification and Features
Single flow mechanical filter:
Its pipeline is simple with smooth operation, filter speed is
around 8-10m/h as a circulated period.
Dual mechanical filter:
It has water inlet device on both top and bottom position with
outlet device in the middle. The merit is: large amount of water
filtration, strong decontamination ability, long-run period-usually
20 hours, the disadvantage is more complex piping system, running
less stable, more difficult to wash and refueling.
Under some pressure ,making raw water go through one or several
filtering media to reduce the water turbidity and to remove
suspended solids, organic matter, colloidal particles,
microorganisms, chlorine odor and some heavy metal ions, the media
can generally be quartz sand, anthracite, activated carbon, porous
ceramic particles, manganese sand etc, users can choose as per real
condition to make water getting idea purification.
It is widely applied in water treatment engineering , Mainly
applied in water pre-treatment of removing turbidity system,
reverse osmosis system, and ion exchange softening desalination
system, it can be also applied in grit removal of surface water and
underground water with incoming water turbidity lower than 20
degree , outlet water turbidity can reach below 3 degree.

Model Selection criteria
Filter volume depends on water capacity , the material of filter
also depends on applicant of different water quality and
requirement , so does the filter media to find single layer, dual
layer or multiple layer as per different demand.

Notice for daily operation
1. Long time no running, once restart use, must make sure to clean
filter media for around 5 minutes till output water clean
2. First running or restart running after long time stop, must
carry on air discharge to the system :open air discharge valve
,incoming water valve, and let water enter till no air in the water
coming out from the air valve.
3. For large filter, can clean it by air through compressed air (
with intensity around: 10～18L/m²•s) to strengthen backwash
efficiency ,then carry on air and water backwash.
4. Must control the backwash intensity to avoid activated carbon
leakage out from the system.
5. Must replace the activated carbon media regularly as per
incoming water quality : generally speaking , change it once every
3 to 6 months.
